Sunny day on the river

Pp's birthday today and an early high tide, so we got our act together and went out on the river again.  I'm a bit sunburned now, I should have put cream on.  I tend to be lax about sunburn since I almost never burn badly, but it's foolish really.  We were on the river at nine and the water was full of that wonderful smell of leaves warming and ( Read more... )

Dewdrops are fun to paint, and for once, painting with acrylics, I have the advantage over those painting in oils, because you glaze a dewdrop over the underlying colour, and it's easier if the underlying colour drys fast! (Usually, painting in acrylics makes techniques a bit harder, particularly on dry warm days!)

Wonderful shots! I especially love the wonky chimney and its reflection.

The smell of the woods and the wild garlic travelling over the water - it sounds beautiful...
