Sunny day on the river

Pp's birthday today and an early high tide, so we got our act together and went out on the river again.  I'm a bit sunburned now, I should have put cream on.  I tend to be lax about sunburn since I almost never burn badly, but it's foolish really.  We were on the river at nine and the water was full of that wonderful smell of leaves warming and

As usual, the card looks better in real life... my inability to photograph paintings strikes again!

Dewdrops are fun to paint, and for once, painting with acrylics, I have the advantage over those painting in oils, because you glaze a dewdrop over the underlying colour, and it's easier if the underlying colour drys fast! (Usually, painting in acrylics makes techniques a bit harder, particularly on dry warm days!)

The smell of the woods and the wild garlic travelling over the water - it sounds beautiful...
