You managed to have an amazing number of adventures in one weekend, apparently! Is the drawing all retrospective or were you already doing pastels as you were adventuring along?
It was a full week - we used to do weekends, but it felt like most of the players had to do an awful lot of travelling for not much time roleplaying. So now we all take a week off and do it properly. Quite a lot of plot, even for a whole week though!
... All the pastel drawings were made as we were playing. So they are a bit rough and not very detailed, but it's good drawing practice, as you get a constant stream of subject matter and to some extent have to let go of carefully finding references and all that stuff and just DRAW.
I love it. We've got it over our fireplace in the living room - well, we put it there because it's convenient for the campaign, but I think it can stay there, because it's ever so decorative!
No particular reason, except that he's not supposed to be a particularly good-looking elf, certainly compared to Thorofin - so I reasoned he should not have long gorgeous hair. Maybe he gets split ends. :-D
He probably looks a bit too pretty in this picture too, but I'm not too good at drawing faces.
I think your faces are improving all the time. I am very rubbish at faces, but something I remember being told that really stuck with me, is that eyes come basically half-way down the scull, so in general peaople need more forehead plus behaired top-of-head than one might think. I think Thingolodh is looking particularly good here, though I also like the scuptured beauty of Thorofin.
... well, if the person is looking straight at you, anyway...
The good thing about roleplaying drawing though is that you have to keep charging on with it, you can't hang about and fiddle with stuff (particularly on this campaign, as in the absense of Thrar, I was also taking the notes). So these are all a bit rough, but the sheer volume of them is good practice.
