Dog WIP Day 2

Feb 06, 2015 22:29

I always forget to take photos / video of the process of introducing dogs to cats, and then wish I had later. Sod's law says that this will be the dog where the process doesn't actually work, but I've taken photos anyway.  Need to read manual to find out how to get video off the new camera, as it seems non-intuitive.

Another great post.

And I don't say so very often, but I am filled with admiration for your work in fostering dogs.

Well, it's fun - or for me it is. Hair raising, hard work, messy, fun. It's a way of learning about the behaviour of a whole bunch of animals close up, without the obligation of having to actually own them all.

I feel I've learned a lot!

I hope Perdy can soon settle into the household (strange elderly cat included) and the routine - it sounds like just what she needs...

And taking on a foster dog that has been known to attempt a six-foot fence? I have to say you're very brave indeed! Hope all goes well.

Well, I think ideally what she needs is a cat-free home with a large garden surrounded by deer fencing, owned by a deaf person who works from home and already has a dog who loves to play...

But in the absence of the ideal, we'll do what we can!

She has jumped several six-foot fences now, but none the less, nobody has actually lost her - so I'm going to recommend that the charity stops worrying about fence height and instead looks for a home that will be aware of the environment and will keep her onlead if there are likely to be fireworks or gunshots.
