Funny weather we're having for the time of year....

I took the dogs down to the mines this morning, and on the way back I got rained on, even though the sun was also shining so brightly that I could see my shadow very clear and black. Coo, it was hot. Though not as hot as it was walking along the Lyn valley on Sunday: that was really rainforest-like, after the huge thunderstorm that morning ( Read more... )

I hadn't realised that Advocate also does fleas- something which does everything and does not involve my having to give Magnus a pill/paste has got to be good. Unfortunatley I've just stocked up on Advantage flea control as the vet had them on buy two get one free.....

Magnus does not like pills. At all.

We have one like that: Footie is a nightmare to get pills into, and he is so strong, and seems to have about 27 paws, each clad with iron claws!

It's definitely possible to do it all with spot-on, though it does cost more and we needed 2 sorts (tapeworm and roundworm) Droncit is the tapeworm one: we are out of the roundwormer and I can't remember the name offhand, but your vet should have it.

We Frontline for fleas, but I tend to do it only if there are signs of trouble rather than every month, because I don't really like treating them with that lethal a cocktail so often, and they don't pick them up all the time. (Also, Footie has a tendency to get a rash if he is overtreated).

Mine seem to get them even though they are indoor cats. As Mikka seems to have a flea allergy I think it makes sense to treat them all regularly in the summer just to be on the safe side. I'll look intothe sopt on stuff next time I re-stock.
