Az dog insurance: my brain is going : pedigree dogs.

I definitely recorded Az's insurance premium as £205 in a recent post, and I would have bet my socks that I had that right, and had paid for it in one go by credit card.  I just got the paperwork, which says the premium is just £180, and enclosed a direct debit form.  Boggle.  I rang them to check they had the right dog, they say they do, so I've ( Read more... )

Given the horrific medical problems (with commensurately horrific vet bills) associated with pedigree dogs, I'm not at all surprised. I certainly have to pay more for my fluffies and they are from one of the healthiest breeds around.

Greyhounds are also supposed to be relatively healthy as breeds go, so I was a little surprised to discover that the risks are high enough to make up for a year's age difference. I suppose it demonstrates just how extreme their breeding for one purpose is.
