Weather report
It's time for my now-traditional snow report:
This morning we had light snow in the air, which quickly turned to miserable Schneeregen in time for the morning commute to Kita. The ground is too warm, and the volume of snow too small, for any of it to survive on the ground. Now it's just cold, with a few little stray flakes drifting in, and a hint, if you imagine very, very hard, of sunlight to the south.

The rumour here is that this will be a particularly cold, or long, winter. I don't feel like searching for confirmation that anyone is predicting that with more rationality than a watching a groundhog, so we'll just have to wait and see, invest in warm clothing, and check that our heaters are in order.
