Today is supposed to be a lucky day. Eh, I have to admit, it wasn't too bad. I hit all the lights coming home from picking up dinner so that was pretty lucky. My sector is re-aligning and re-organizing and so far, I still have a job. That's lucky--I think. I got an hour and a half massage that put me to sleep for the last half hour - not so ( Read more... )

You're very welcome.

He he, of course, it certainly didn't come from this part of Canada, because it was nauseatingly hot here, before the lightning came. I work in the Alberta Research Council building, and even that braintrust couldn't figure out how to keep the building from turning into an oven. :) But what can you do with those giant picture windows when it's 30 C outside?

Of course . . . 30 C is 86 Fahrenheit. You mean it gets hotter in places that people live in? ;)

In the spring 86 would be warm. In the summer, it's a nice break from the mid to upper 90's and high humidity we had last week. Heh, I even have the windows open, although I'll probably cave shortly and put the air back on.

Oh that IS horrible! We had a similar case like that around here. I don't remember the outcome of it. I think the dog survived, but only after a whackload of vet bills.

As for the weather, my little bit of Canada has cooled off quite a bit the last few days thanks to all the rain. Highs of 18c (68F or so) over the weekend, only going up to about 25 the rest of the week. (82F or so)

So I guess we're sharing! But really, you're welcome to it! We don't get a very long summer here. And I really really hate being cold. Soon enough we'll be buried under mountains of snow that need to be shoveled from the driveway again. *Sighs* Id much rather be mowing the lawn.

Our snow is either feast or famine (mostly famine) but every so often we do get the odd blizzard. And I love it! So yeah, I'd definitely trade you weather. I think the thing I hate the most about our summers is how dead everything usually gets by August. We've had droughts the last couple of years so this cool, dry air is very welcome. My lawn is still green!

The dog story blows my mind. It's made a pretty big stir out here, too. Not just the dogs being hunted and assassinated, but the fact that the Sheriff's department takes no liability or apology whatsoever. Injustice is a very, very big deal to me and this is a huge miscarriage.

We've had a few heatwaves this summer, but for the most part it's been bearable. Yeah, East Coast summers? As much as I'll love living on your seaboard, I'm not sure how well I'll do the summer. The UK gets pretty muggy in the summer, but we just never got the sun and heat to go with it.

Wow, the dog story made its way out there? Good. I hope everyone knows what complete a-holes the police in PG county are. Most of those "life's not fair" injustices don't bother me but stuff like this does because it's driven by complete incompetence and stupidity.

Today was in the low 80's with a nice, cool breeze. I had the air off and the windows open all day. I don't recall ever having the air off in August. East Coast summers definitely take some getting used to. I moved out here from Oklahoma and while we had heat and humidity, nothing prepared me for this humidity.
