The Thrill of a New Season

Sep 26, 2007 23:29

When I was a kid, one of the bestest things in the world was waiting for the start of a favorite TV show. Usually it was The Avengers or The New Avengers or maybe even Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea or Mission: Impossible. With the exception of The New Avengers, all of these were in reruns on cable but since I was too young to watch them first ( Read more... )

One can only hope, especially after the supreme letdown that was last season.

Me too. I so totally had square eyes when I was a kid. We only had three channels though, so parents were always in the room. And I still remember watching the New Avengers whenever they were on. The one that has always stuck in my memory is the one where Steed gets his hands burned somehow, and at the end he's drinking champagne or something with totally bandaged hands. Poor Steed.

I can't wait for tomorrow night. I haven't checked on spoilers, although I kinda think I know what's up with Sara, but from what you've said on the forum, doesn't look like Brass is in the opener too much. Even so, I shall enjoy the first bit of new Brass immensely. And I'm taking a class on Thursday nights, but luckily I usually hit the driveway by nine. So no checking on LJ updates you say? Ha!!! Bri broke and got an Iphone and now I've got his old one with net access, so I'll be sneaking peeks and commenting just like old times. I can't wait. Omg, I'm so excited about tomorrow. Wheeee.

It's kind of embarrassing to admit all of the useless TV trivia that I know. I was an only child raised by a single mother who went on a lot of dates. I was home alone a lot so the TV became my new best friend--well, apart from my real best friend.

And that New Avengers scene you remember? That was Gambit who had the bandaged hands. He tried to karate chop a tree. Steed had his arm in a sling though because he'd been shot so you were half right. I'd tell you the name of the episode as well but that'd just make me look like the uber-dork that I am.

Lolz. You're totally right, Steed got shot. It was in the woods, right? So, the New Avengers has just been lined up in our queue. Have to brush up on the Steed love.

I really hope Brass and Sofia get a few scenes together this season. I really don't want any other detectives on the show but if having a new one on board means we get Brass and Sofia partnered up again, I'd be in squee heaven.

Mmm, Brass. It'll be good to see him return. The rest of the season better not suck, though.

Lots of grissom, then lots of brass. a lot less of sara and please God get the damn gsr overwith.

I missed the house season opener. we had to go to a funeral. but i think they are taking house down a weird road now and i wont be surprised if it doesnt make another season.

I know what you mean about season premiers and the shows you love. With voyage I used to hide from my family to watch it alone. I dont want anybody talking. With CSI my husband sighs alot and doesnt understand why I think William Petersen is awesome hotness. He also somehow continues to confuse Catherine from CSI (he hates her) with Lilly Rush from Cold Case (which he loves). Then he mixed everything up by thinking it was lilly under the car. Gad what a dufus.

My mom would sit on the sofa behind me and go on and on about how stupid Voyage was and how Seaview was nothing like a real submarine (duh) so I hated it when she was in the room. I remember during Werewolf, my mom sat there and howled. Now it's kind of funny but back then, I was so mad.

I probably would have had to smack her. I almost smacked my husband during CSI the other night . He kept making comments about stupid sara wandering in the desert. And yes I though it was stupid too but please shut up while I am watching. I might miss a Grissom or Brass moment.
