I'm not quite sure why Ash is so topped by Sharon. He...really isn't usually that toppable, Kieran aside. But she managed it, and in very short order, too. There's something in him that likes politeness and tradition and civilized mannerisms, I think. Plus, he misses his aunt, and while I don't imagine her as being a 'lady' in any real sense, we get the idea that she had a real sense of warmth and that she did well raising him, and Sharon somehow hit that button right from the beginning. Even though he interprets her physical appearance as 'child', mentally/emotionally he sees her as an adult. It really does bother him on some deep level that she seems sad all the time, and he would like to do what he can to make her feel better. She...will probably be allowed to top him pretty freely whenever. Ash needs a mom, even if he doesn't know it yet

I. cannot actually figure out if Ash really likes Joshua or is just trying to minimize his potential damage. I think he actually likes him, but at the same time he's pretty freaking aware that Joshua's out of his mind and quite dangerous. But Ash also feels for him, because a lot of his crazy seems beyond his control, and there are glimpses of him being kind of a normal kid underneath (liking books, being a picky eater, thinking fire and violence is shiny, etc). He's playing a sort of dangerous game with Joshua, because he wants to keep the crazy kid interested without giving away too much of what he can do that would probably make him most interesting. As long as Joshua doesn't hurt/toy with (dangerously) Ash or the people he cares about, they're all good. Part of what gives him confidence in this case is that he's faaaairly sure that if Joshua turned on him, Ash could drop his shields and use his jedi mind skillz projective empathy to make Joshua stop. He hopes rather vehemently this will never be necessary

...once Ash gets over the concept of television, this would be GLORIOUS.
Ash is interested in Molly! First off, girls in his world don't get to keep their Talents--it gets magically lobotomized out of them, pretty much. So as unfair as he thinks that is, magic-users that are female and being trained are still novel to him. He thinks she's sort of interestingly naive--obviously her magic works differently than his does, but the fact that she pings him as being powerful juxtaposes interestingly with the fact that she seems content to stay close to Harry and not learn to defend herself. (Not that Ash doesn't do the same thing re: hiding behind the combat powerhouse, but he also learned to throw a punch and shoot a gun.) Half the time he's not quite sure what she's talking about, but that doesn't make talking to her less interesting. He has every intention of poking the Dresdenverse wizards moar, because he's kinda nosy like that, and he likes their senses of humor.
Haha, talking about magically lobotomizing women made Molly very uncomfortable because one of the first major acts she did with her talent was go out and swiss-cheese a few of her friend's minds. XD
O-oopsie. Perhaps not your best plan, Molly. The Watch's method of removing Talents doesn't usually lobotomize people. I think. Except when it does. Not that they really care anyway, because it's just a woman.
Ash is intrigued! He knows that the hawk in Robin's meeting and the kid he met after the destruction of the mess hall are one and the same, so what he's really interested in is why Tobias is hiding. He's not sure if Tobias thinks he's pulling one over on Ash or not, but he's willing to run with it. Incidentally, he assumes that Tobias' default form is human, not hawk, since his mind is human. I...don't remember if he got Tobias' name or not, oops. In any case, godling is interested, will seek out again.
Tobias only gave Ash his real name, seeing as he didn't talk to him as a hawk, so he didn't get 'Eric.' XD I personally think it's kind of hilarious that he uses a fake name for his real form and his real name in his human (technically fake) form. XD
