Once he reaches her, Van offers out his hand for a little help up.]

[When she's dragged into the leaf pile, it gets the attention of a friendly watcher. While she tries to get the big guy under control, Clark jogs up to the two of them.]

[He catches the dog by the forepaws as it leaps up to say hello to him.] Well hi to you too, big guy. [He looks past Sol at Noel.] You look like you could use a hand, little lady.

Sol, no! [She tries to handle her dog, but it's obvious who's handling who. She seems almost embarrassed as she looks up at Clark apologetically.] I-I'm so sorry. He's been really energetic today!

It's fine, really. [He chuckles and pushes Sol's paws back, forcing the dog back to all fours, then gives him a little pat on the head.]

I had a dog myself back home, you know. This sort of thing happens sometimes. How old is he?

Ah... [She relaxes. This man, whoever he is, seems kind enough.] I don't know, actually. When I first got him, he was still a little puppy. That was almost a year ago...
