[There's someone else prancing around the village in the midst of night, and his reasons are similar to her's. Dreams, dreams, and more dreams. And tonight's dream felt... twisted ( ... )

So what? You think they'll just let something bad happen to us here?

[He's talking about the Malnosso, of course. He doesn't usually throw his chips into trusting them over things, especially like this, but it's the only answer he can think of. Trying to handle it themselves might not work out as well, especially with the nature of Shifts in general.

In all honesty, Ragna doesn't know how to respond to Noel's statement besides what he just said.]

Of course not! [She's very quick to correct herself upon mentioning the Malnosso.] They have to be aware of what's happening already, but... [sigh] I-I'm sorry. You're right--they wouldn't let something like this actually harm us.

[She crosses her arms, her eyes still hard-pressed on his hand.] Maybe... Maybe I'm just upset.

[He's going to return his gaze to the palm of his hand. The dream felt so real -- maybe that's why she's upset? If the dreams were all apart of this weird Shift, then does that mean that her dream felt just as real as his? Just as intense as his?

It'd be enough to get her thinking about all of this crap that she's spewing, at least. He feels it.] Upset because of the dream, right?

Right. You've heard what people have said about the over the journal, haven't you? How real they feel? [...] It was sort of like that, but... what I dreamt was... I don't even know how to describe it.

[He skimmed the journal, so he really didn't hear about how real it felt. But that explains a lot.]

You can't describe it? [He won't ask her too. It's private, after all. He's quiet after that for a moment.] ... I felt like my arm got ripped off. It was too fast.

[Her eyes widen with shock. Sure, her dream was pretty bad, but dreaming about his arm being torn off? Needless to say, it explains why he's been staring at this hand all this time.]

...what? Ragna, that's-- that's horrible!

[He's still not looking at her. It's bad enough that he's actually talking about this, but looking her in the eye would just kill him on the inside. It's too embarrassing. He doesn't normally talk about this crap.]

There was so much going on, but it was way too fast to figure it out. The only thing I felt was my arm being ripped off.

[But she's looking at him, trying to see his countenance despite the angle--she doesn't know why--and as a result, she lets herself scoot a little closer to him. She knows it was just a dream, and that nothing this serious could have ever happened to him because his arms are still clearly attached to him, but she can't help but feel hurt over hearing this. Even if it was a nightmare. Call her sensitive, I guess.

At the very least, it's obvious it's hurt him. She's quiet for a few moments, just as he is, before finally speaking up.] It really bothered you, didn't it?

[His vision is still fixated on his hand, though he doesn't exactly ignore the fact that she moved in closer. It just left this lingering feeling of dread. He can't help but succumb to it, the way that dream presented itself to him. It felt so real -- too real.

A burning building...] A little. [He's bullshitting.] But yours did too, didn't it?

It did. [...] But compared to yours, it wasn't that bad.

[...and maybe she's bullshitting a bit, too. No, it was bad. Even if she didn't understand it as well as how Ragna could understand his (sans vaguely), it was still horrifically bad for her. Even if none of it made no freaking sense.]

Bad enough for you to be out here. That's something on its own. [Ragna comes outside this late on a regular basis. Noel? Not so much.

It had to have been bad, or at least not nearly as small of a deal she was starting to make it out to be in comparison to his.]

[That's enough to make her go quiet again. Averting her eyes from Ragna to the ground, just as he is, her shoulders slump in defeat.

He has a point.]

I was... floating somewhere. I-I don't know where. It was too bright to see, but... all I could hear were people screaming.

[Too bright and people screaming. That's such a weird combination, and sure as hell doesn't sound like something that could feel real. What the hell was wrong with these dreams?]

All around you? [Maybe it was from a specific direction or something. That's kind of believable, right?]

Everywhere. Whoever... whatever it was, it kept circling around me. [...] A-And it sort of felt like I was in an oven.

[Who knows, maybe she was in the sun.]

[Wouldn't she have burnt alive if that were the case? Goddamn dreams and their faulty logic.

He falls silent for a moment with a quiet "oh", and looks over to her. That sounded like it was hard to deal with. In Ragna's case, all he could manage to understand was that there was a fire, people around him, and his arm was ripped off. Nothing else -- it was too fast and too sudden. Noel's dream wasn't at the speed of light, and she could sort of understand her surroundings.

People screaming is something you don't want to have to listen to while floating in limbo. Hay, maybe she was in the burning building in Ragna's dream herp!] Sounds worse than mine, to be honest.
