[ν-13's staying out of the journal's sight, so Noel will likely only see part of the forest if she were to look. Someone's being a bit careful after what happened the last time they met in person.]

...Christmas? [She's heard that word a few times throughout the past few days, but it still doesn't ring any bells. Holidays aren't exactly something she needs to be informed about in order to fulfill her purpose, after all, but... she's kind of curious by now, so.]

[... Okay. That's a little strange, but oh well.]

A holiday. It's where friends and family exchange presents and spend time together. There's dinner parties, caroling, decorations, and other activities.

[Pause.] Was that a good explanation, or are you still confused?

[And that sounds a little strange to her.]

Spending time with friends and fam [Wait. No. Forget that. ...Scratching that sentence out pretty quickly now.]

...Why? [What's the point of all of that? You could just spend time together with others at any other time of the year... and she honestly couldn't care less about parties or anything of the sort.

In other words, still confused. Sorry, Noel, but this... really doesn't make that much sense to her.]

I'm not sure myself. I suppose it's because people need a special time to get together and be thankful for what they have.

[... She kind of doesn't understand it either. But it's still nice.]

[But why limit yourself to just a certain time of the year for that? It seems kind of... illogical.]

What abou Why do peopl [...How does she word this.]

...You said that people exchange presents as well. Why? [What's the pooooint. I mean, really. Can't you just give the ones you care about presents at any time...?]

A tradition, perhaps? I suppose you could say it's a way to show that you care about someone, too. [... Christ, these are hard to answer. Feel free to notice that the answers are a little slow, because Noel has to pause to think about it.]

Showing that you care about someone...? [What. People exchange gifts to do that? That's news to her. And, yes, she's noticing that, but, well... not commenting on it. No point in doing that right now.]

Yes. That's one way to show it. [Right?]

Maybe I shoul [Wait. No. Bad wording.]

...What kind of presents do people normally exchange? [Not considering something here. No. Never. You're imagining things.]

All sorts of things. It's usually something the receiver would probably like, though.

Or maybe clothing. Or food, cards, decorations. Anything nice.

[But... but most of that would require going into the town! And she's trying not to do that...]

...Would something found in a forest also work as a present? [Then again, it's winter... that'd probably make it hard to find something there. Um.]

Sure. You could probably use the materials there to make something nice.

[Aww, Noel's getting this feeling that the person wants to give someone a present. And it's a little cute.]

[There's a brief pause before Noel gets another response.]

...Make something nice? [What could you make out of things found in a forest... Hm...]

Yes. [Pause. What could you make out of things in a forest? Uh. One in the middle of Winter? ... Dammit.] Just try something creative.

[...]

I'm sure whoever it is would like it.

[Pausing again as well. There's really not a lot to make things out of in a forest at this time of the yea-

Wait. Waaaait. Idea!]

...Would something made of wood work? [There's certainly no shortage of that right now, so... hmm!]

Of course. Did you have anything in mind? [Because Noel now kind of wants to help this person with their last-minute gift.]
