she's a girl, she likes these sort of things. she would love it if she came home after a tiring day full of schedules, to find her boyfriend waiting for her, guitar and flowers in his hands.
but she knows kyuhyun isn’t like that, so she doesn’t mention it. because he’s still her kyuhyun, the boy who makes her feel giddy inside, the one who makes her think of a possible future with him in a white house with a garden and two children. not that she will ever tell him that, because he will tell her she’s a fool and clinging to the idea of a perfect romance too much, and doesn’t she know that they will sign contracts until they’re old and wrinkly?
and that’s exactly why she doesn’t expect it.
she looks at the rings in the little box, identical ones, couple rings.
“what…kyuhyun,” she whispers fondly.
he takes her hand in his, fiddling with the ring and putting it on her finger gently. he takes the other one and puts it on his own finger, then holds their hands together. she presses a kiss to his cheek, smiling when she sees him turning red. “i love it.”
“i knew you would.” a slap to his arm. “what? i know my girlfriends’ wants. you haven’t been that subtle. ‘oh look, they’re wearing couple rings. i like silver. after how many days can you wear couple rings?’”
she scowls, pulling her hand out of his grip. “just because you aren’t romantic…”
“you love me though,” he says, leaning in for a kiss.
she leans back on purpose, pretending to think about it. then she says, “yes, i do love you,” and lets him kiss her.
