the X actually can also stand for the greek symbol FOR christ. I hated x-mas too, until i realized that it means CHRIST-mas. for the believer, it almost accentuates the importance of it. pretty interesting.
Actually...it's not even Christ's actual date of birth. No one knows when it really is. And although we've kinda warped the meaning of it, you also must understand that not everyone shares the same belief. So if you look at it for the holiday that it is, there are still some fundamental Christian practices...giving to others, being cheerful, spending time with family, giving to charity. Although we should do these things on a yearly basis...Christmas isn't all that bad of a holiday. I don't think Jesus cares if everyone doesn't celbrate his "birthday"...I'm pretty sure he's above trying to impress us. Even if for a month, people can be a little happier and be a little kinder durring the holiday season, I'm sure it's alright with him. So rather then try to hate people for it (which, by the way...hate isn't good), you should try and help others undertsand why it is important to you. If they don't share those beliefs, that's fine, just be a good person and help make their Holiday season more enjoyable :) Cheers!
i think x does mean Christ in one of those ancient languages. it's just in december on a set date for economical purposes, is what i'm thinking. to keep everyone in line. because america is skitzo. God bless america.
well guys... put out your manger scenes and enjoy it. JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!!!!
