I recently ran across this comm while comm-hunting on someone's user info: little-details.  Perhaps it's my own writer's mind, but trying to imagine the stories behind the requests comes up with the most amazing tales.  I mean, seriously, this has got to rock, although the request to know how to bleach a corpse is, shall we say, intriguing.

The problem with the fox would be difficulties with communication. We still don't know what it says.

The sad part is, I've seen a show about the Russian dog/fox crosses they mentioned. But yes, I'm thinking, like a wolverine or something...And how to get it lead you to the missing person...

A friend of mine works at the library and she gets all sorts of calls like this -- some that make her a little nervous. "How long does it take a corpse to decompose in the desert?" "Uh, you're writing a mystery novel, right?" "...Yes."

See, and here's a place where authors can ask safely. Note how there's the anon option. I'm not sure if that's so their story isn't spoiled or if so no one calls the police on them.
