One of the things I love about the NC and the mutiny arcs is the sense that you never know who's against who, as here with Tory and Gaeta and Elizabeth's market rats ( ... )

And Figurski. I feel bad for him -- the only old man on Galactica whom no one loves.

Remember how he got that great big smooch from some kind woman when they found Earth 1.0?... That was a great moment, it really was. ;-)

I think the prejudice against Figurski is worthy of a chapter in Baltar's books. If Figurski had been deck chief, we'd probably all love him. But since he's just a knuckle dragger, and there career and not as a stepping stone to dental school or where the hell ever, we belittle him. Pure classism.

Elizabeth continues to break my heart -- the pragmatism of kids raised in a war zone.

I cringed when I realized that she's once again going to be in the adrenaline charged situation. Any hope that she can be a 'normal' kid is sorta shot. But I guess the same can be said for all the human survivors.

And Figurski. I feel bad for him -- the only old man on Galactica whom no one loves.

Perhaps it's all for the best I never got a chance to post that Figurski's in on the Ellen gang bang drabble, eh? All your conceptions of him would have been shattered, baby!

I had to fit Laura's praying on NC in there somewhere, but I felt her faith definitely would have been tested more than in canon. In canon, she had to feel a bit vindicated by what happened, if not thrilled by the experience. Here, she feels somewhat responsible, and is more involved in some uncomfortable decisions than we saw in the rather confusing episodes.

Dumb Laura, not realizing how desperate her people are, how radicalizing the people isn't something that can be ( ... )

As I told you I love the ending. The cylons looking for Laura. Just builds the tension as we know Laura will now end up in detention.

I love how Laura knows that Bill will want to get Kara off the planet as well. My big Bill has enough love in his heart to go around Kara, Elizabeth and everyone else.

More Ishay! And she's using military training! Pity Cally never used any of that anytime (other than the ear and I'm not sure that came out of a miliary textbook).

LOL about Laura pointing out Elizabeth's Tauron traits. And love this line. She hated it when her parents referred to her conception; their combination of embarrassment and wicked glee always made her uncomfortable. I think that's me reading smut! With embarrassment but wicked glee!

Do we? *evil chuckle*

I will say, thinking about who was where, doing what, has FINALLY made sense of the fact Sam vowed to take care of Maya and Hera and then promptly dropped the ball. He was off looking for Kara! Which makes it a bit less stoopid, but still.

I'll try to give Cally some leeway, and say maybe she hadn't been in the service that long and only had basic training? But Ishay older, and I think would have been through a bit more training. I'm still not sure what her rank should be. Meant to poke around before I posted! Oops!

I think that's me reading smut! With embarrassment but wicked glee!

You? Embarrassment? Uh.....hmmm...

This was a difficult chapter--for you, too? I'm sorry that Duck had to die in this AU, but you're right, it was a fine catalyst for the rounding-up of subversives. Poor Laura; she gets one shining moment of hope for herself and especially her daughter, and then it all falls apart yet again.

Very interesting parallel you draw between Elizabeth and Helena Cain. The poor girl really is poised on the edge of the knife, isn't she, with all the terrible things she's had to do and/or bear witness to. Bill had best get the Fleet off that hellhole planet before much longer.

I think Duck, if Nora was still dead, would still be on that suicide track.

Poor Laura; she gets one shining moment of hope for herself and especially her daughter, and then it all falls apart yet again.

Well, this is BSG! LOL!

Very interesting parallel you draw between Elizabeth and Helena Cain. The poor girl really is poised on the edge of the knife, isn't she, with all the terrible things she's had to do and/or bear witness to. Although I've skipped and jumped over some bits, I did want to have what happened in my mind, and that would certainly include the Helena Cain encounter. And with Laura wallowing in 'oh, what have I done!?' I wanted to call back to a time when she was very bloody-minded. And then I remembered the Razor flashbacks of Cain's childhood and the Tauron bit, and thought, I can make some Elizabeth connections. Cain just didn't have Bill and Laura as parents to keep her on the straight ( ... )

The awful intensity of life under occupation -- the constant heightened reflexes, horrible decisions and suspicions... I feel almost guilty for saying that it makes for terrific reading!

I loved Elizabeth so much in this, She hated it when her parents referred to her conception; their combination of embarrassment and wicked glee always made her uncomfortable. So hard to be a teenager!

So Cain was Tauron, huh? Yep, I can see it!

And it's terrific to write. With several episodes worth of material, there's enough to start a world within a world.

So hard to be a teenager!

Ain't it the truth! Plus it's a little tie between her reaction and poor Saul. I'm sure TMI! is universal.

So Cain was Tauron, huh? Yep, I can see it!

You scared me there for a moment! Had I remembered wrong? Nope, checked wiki. It's too bad that they hadn't set the whole Tauron background story on Bill quite yet when they made Pegasus and R1/2. It could have made some nice tension between the Adamas and Cain.

Yay! They made contact. And Laura managed to get a personal message through, Bill's going to be extatic.

I loved the little moment between Laura and Elizabeth, it seems she had a chane of heart regarding her mothers decisions. I find it comforting that Laura's praying again. However it looks like Laura's also ending up in detention in your AU, so much can happen before Bill is able to come for them.

Even though this is an action section of the story, I always come back to scenes of characters together, finding out more about each other.

I find it comforting that Laura's praying again.

I can see her staying away from it, with all the guilt from the events on her mind.

However it looks like Laura's also ending up in detention in your AU, so much can happen before Bill is able to come for them.

Another person making assumptions! ;)

Of course, and now Sauls' on the Galactica I expect Laura to lose an eye.
