I love the little downtime moments, and like you, I was always sorry we didn't see more of that on the show. Your OC is great - really adds a depth to the A/R relationship that we don't always see.

Oh, and please do follow up on that last little comment about the ring!

One of the great things about fanfic is the way you can look at something small that the show just wouldn't take the time on, like where did they get certain things. There seems to be an endless supply of some things that makes no sense, like when Athena tells Hera she'll mix more sugar in with her algae to make it more palpable, and I'm thinking, but where's the sugar coming from? Particularly with all that booze they make! LOL!

If I'd known that ring throwaway line would excite people so!

But there's no accidents in writing. It popped into my head for a reason, so it'll slide into another story down the line.

I love romantic Bill too! It was fun to put that quality at war with wheeler dealer Bill! HEH!

Awww chocolates and a flower, very sweet, i can imagine Bill going down into the bowels of the ship to barter for Laura. And 3rd persons perspective always brings a fresh feel to their relationship.

Poor Bill sort of gives himself away right off by being the one to go down there. Can't imagine either of them do much of their own shopping!

It seemed so conventional to go with chocolate and flowers, but then I realized, wait, if you can't get something anymore, it's going to feel a lot more special. Just like I can't get any Indian food without a $400 plane ride. :(

That was delightful and a fascinating look into the trade market of the fleet!

Watching Black Market, I thought, surely they came up with something better than the mass chaos shown there, with just this crazy crowd offering everything from Jello cup to child prostitutes. Come on, humans, you can do better!

What a nice touch this piece is. The Admiral obviously shopping for his lady & willing to part with his pilot's gear. I like seeing the intimate, everyday stuff that makes him a regular guy & not always Admiral Adama.

Nice original character.

I didn't think of that, but time is a precious commodity for someone like Adama or Roslin, and it's a gift in itself to give their time to each other, to do something like shopping--can't see Bill being a shopper. *visualizing* NO. HEH!
