So, way back in the spring, I found this dog.
I assumed that he was just lost, and it would be quick to reunite him with his human(s).
I still have this dog. Irving Animal Services, (through which he was adopted) doesn't really want to take him back.
I took him to TCAP for vaccination, because I don't have money. Well, he was positive for heartworm.

I've never had to deal with that. I know what a bummer it is to not have money. Vets seem to be experts at using guilt to prod people into taking on enormous debt to pay for expensive medical treatment for animals.
Bud looks like a real sweetheart, and I wish him the best, but if you can't afford to pay for the treatment, just know that you've done him an enormous kindness by providing him with a home and companionship.

Can you go to a vet in another city? Where I live, vets in the surrounding towns are a lot cheaper. There's also a local charity that can help with payments.
Good on you for taking care of him though!
