Omg, both of those scenes - either your dad and mom about the water or your dad with the boys - sound like infomercials for hearing aids "Is this your parent? Tired of scenes like this in your house? Then get the number one recommended hearing aid now!" Lol. We're going through the same thing with Mom, can't hear a thing. She is finally going to see a hearing specialist next week, so hopefully she'll have a hearing aid by summer!
(The thought of Alan Epps getting so old he need a hearing aid makes me sad! Though that actor probably needs one by now, he's been around forever)
