The aide simply gives her a sponge bath. I have no idea why my dad and I never thought of that...

I feel bad for your mom that she can't take a real shower though - when I had the broken legs and I couldn't get the cast wet, I had to do sponge baths for weeks on end and I never felt clean. Of course, now I have days where I'm not going anywhere and I don't feel like getting dressed, so I've adopted sponging off (basically taking off my shirt, wetting my loofah, rubbing it around and applying deodorant) for those days, but I hated it when it was my only option.

Actually, they're all fantastic. The nurse and the physical therapist and the home health aide.

That's great to hear! I knew for awhile you weren't happy with the nurse (or maybe that was the temp nurse while the other one was away?) and it always makes the whole thing better if you are working with competent awesome people!

Does anyone know what a physical therapist/personal trainer is called? I've heard of a few, but I'm thinking it's a relatively new field. They are ( ... )
