I guess it's a case of the Devil You Know. Ya know? I can see that though. Yeah no p0rn, but your p0rn-fu is back in action and I'm sure there will be many more to come. :) I really liked the progression in this story through all the reasons why relationships don't work out for him. Thanks.

Oh man, so, so good. I love the vivid imagery of the war and all the 'normal' reasons he thinks of and I can so very much see him yearning for the way things were. *HUGS*

Yeah.

He'd wake from what anyone else would see as a nightmare and wish he was back inside.

He might not admit it to himself, but he'd also be afraid one day he'd kill that willing body and hate himself forever.

And OMFG--get outta my head. I ALMOST went there with that particular fear, but held it back in the re-write/edit because I already had the "kill something" and "hate himself" sentences.

I'm beginning to wonder if maybe I should have left it. Damn.

Yes, you do. I wish more people would take a stab at it as well. But alas, it's either too difficult or no is interested. Well, except us.

Also, we really need a new FMJ comm, or one just for Animal Mother fics.

No. You didn't need to leave it in. It was so fucking IMPLIED that you didn't need it. It might even be better (more human) that he won't let himself think it.

Part of the problem is I kind of want to write him post-war and that would take at least a little time-period research. At least jungle/war setting is streightforward. Just make it horrific.

Maybe I need to watch a few Vietnam era homefront movies. *shrug* That would take time away from Rayne.
