Flandre is OK to mind read! She's also more than a little on the crazy side, so she has a lot of really strong emotions bouncing around in her head.

I'm fine with either Naoto Shirogane and Lucifer being picked up... or read... whatever!

Of note is that Lucifer while constantly being acting arrogant and full of herself... is ridiculously insecure like you don't even know. This could probably be picked up empathically.

A-OK with her reading Fate! You'll get nothing but positive feelings from her; she's a very warm, loving, protective individual with no shortage of inner strength.

Also, depending on who she's talking to/how close Nausicaa is to her when she reads her, she'll probably pick up on varying degrees of maternal-type love. Fate really loves taking care of kids. :X

There is a full-blown mind-reader in Yukari's canon, but Yukari has not encountered her face-to-face, and it's not much of a stretch to think that Yukari has some way of dealing with mind-readers- especially since her power is "manipulation of boundaries", so a boundary that keeps out any sort of mind/emotion reading seems plausible.

Then again, if she's not aware of said emotion reading she can't put the boundary up, but that brings up the question of whether her emotions make sense; it's canon that she doesn't think the way a human does.

Can you tell I'm overthinking this?

Nausicaä's power doesn't really work on "active" probing. It's more of a passive device - she picks up on strong emotions or intentions, although she can certainly amplify it by concentrating (or use it to communicate, obviously). So, it's entirely possible that Yukari just comes off as something strange and alien. She's able to communicate with giant insects and a biological war-machine (although that one's fairly anthromorphized). So it's entirely possible that Yukari just comes off as something rather strange when/if Nausicaä does get a reading on her.

Etna's emotions are often somewhat hidden, so Nausicaa may often sense two different feelings when she looks at her - an act and someting closer to her real feelings on a situation.
