[Today the network is treated to what looks like a trainer battle on Route 31. Mitsuru stands on one side of the battlefield, hands on her hips, while her opponent (a frightened looking bug catcher) cowers on the other side. The trainer's Metapod looks beaten and on its last leg as it stares down Mitsuru's Seel] ( Read more... )

I have yet to test my skills against other trainers directly. It was enlightening to watch.

I've found a few trainers willing to battle on the route between Cherrygrove and Violet City. It's a good way to hone my skills in preparation for a gym match.

I have not ventured far from Cherrygrove yet, as I have been working in order to procure necessary funds. I will be sure to search out these trainers, however. Thank you for the information.

I am admittedly eager to take the gym challenge, but I wonder if I should acquire a larger party first. Watson and Hercule are progressing splendidly but they are only two.

The size of a party doesn't matter as long as the Pokemon are trained well. Strategy always wins over brute strength.

That is true, but I wouldn't wish to exhaust them with a long battle with no support either. I suppose it partly depends on the leader's preferred type and strategy.

I suppose it does. Either way, I wish you luck on your training.

Thank you. Good luck with yours as well.

[And Naoto assumes if there was new information one of them would have brought it up. Failing at social interaction is go.]

[alas there is no new information on Mitsuru's end, at least not about Aigis ;___;]

Do you plan on leaving Cherrygrove any time soon, out of curiosity?

I have just finished the required week of work so I am considering that, yes. I will need to spend some time gathering and purchasing supplies and it is important to keep my plans flexible at the moment.

However, if all goes well, I expect to leave within a day or two.

The road to Violet City is much rougher than the road to Cherrygrove. But I'm certain you're well prepared for it.

I have been researching the available food that can be found through foraging so I can calculate how much I should bring with me. That is the area I feel least prepared for, I will admit.

Then if you're familiar with camping, you should have no trouble at all.
