Yes, my main interest in medieval, but the sites on that website are also interesting. I really enjoyed the links to the various historical re-enactments. Thanks for sharing the site. The only problem is these sorts of sites make me want to learn Russian, so I can read the original captions. For my own amusement, I downloaded a Russian language course and I cannot for the life of me make the sounds at the top of the mouth. Stupid flat accent.

There are certain sounds most on which English speakers stumble :) But it works both ways - there is hardly a Russian, who will not betray himself with the sing-song melody of his accent, even if speaking fluent English (or other foreign language). It's nice sounding languag, but like French, has very "lasting" influence.

Awesome pictures! I haven't seen lightning in years, so it's lovely to do so, if only vicariously.

I'd love to see the fortress url.

Here's a link: simple, but nice descriptions and pictures of older and more modern fortifications.

I can supply you with more (but you're more into medieval history, true?)

Can't really imagine being in a long distance relationship... I guess I'm far too possessive as of yet ;)
