Great choices - three of these are my favorites for the year. BTW those three (Brave New World, Tightrope and Polka Slayer) were all on petzipellepingo's vid rec list, so it's cool to duplicate recs inadvertently? (I've been freaking out and assuming if someone rec'd something I had to scratch it off my list.)
Nope, it's fine -- your favorite stuff is your favorite stuff! There are some works that have been recced a dozen times, both during their creation year and in Classic Recs for years after.
Although clearly there is still a lot of fanwork being done in the Buffyverse, I suspect that there are generally fewer vids made, especially years after its end.
Oh cool, thanks for letting me know! Not that my misunderstanding was an entirely bad thing - it forced me to find other things to add to the list. But one less thing to worry about is one less thing to worry about! *lol*
Re: vids, a lot of the best were made years ago but some of my favorites were 2011-2012, quite a few of them actually. And a lot of the 2012 vids I didn't know about until 2013...and so on. I had no idea that fray_adjacent12 made vids until this year, and I'd never heard of Afterthebattle until this past spring.
I think I mentioned on the other thread that Brave New World made me cry and NO vid has ever managed that.
It's really a meta-vid rather than "just" an episode tribute - and it frankly blew my mind. I pride myself on making connections across the series and the Wish is one of my favorite eps but I'd never thought to look at how much the entire series is paralleled or reversed in that one ep.
I think it's harder to find meta-vids - I'd include this one with My Medea, Bachelorette, No Longer Feels Like Home, Origins, etc.
Yes, it's the sort of vid it would be great to see more often, especially since most characters have multiple ship and character vids out there already.
