I always feel I have to fanwank that terrible, chunky dye job Buffy had throughout most of season 3. She was working as a waitress in "Anne," didn't make a lot of money, and got a do-it-yourself highlight kit, resulting in the bleached bangs and strawberry base color that irritated me throughout most of the season. I always feel the need to take her to a salon and get her haircolor evened out so it doesn't look like a bad dye job!

I'm not sure if I genuinely like her S2 look the best or if I just think I do because that's what I've been watching lately. Until you asked us to think about it, I didn't really have a preference except that, in general, I don't straight hair is that flattering on her.

I enjoyed her season five hair the most overall. In fact, most of the girls did pretty well in season five.

I have important feelings about this. Because it is a very important matter.

I'm here to say that early season 6 Buffy--pre-hair massacre--is my favorite. How could anyone not love that strawberry blond color on SMG? And her hair was flowing, but not overly coiffed (which it sometimes seemed to be in season 5).

And the season 6 clothes! Oh, the clothes. That cameo shirt from Life Serial? I want to learn to sew just so I can recreate it. And the cute little lilac camisole paired with green khakis in All the Way? And the "I Survived" dragon T shirt from the end of Hells Bell? I want all of it. (I don't want the weird leather-sweater duster thing from Tabula Rasa, though).

But after season 6, I say season 7 for clothes and hair, then late season 5, then season 3--mainly for the clothes (Cardigans! Pencil skirts! Flowers in her hair!) . Season 2 is a good hair season, but the ridiculous clothes disqualify it entirely for me.

But... uh... I'd never given this any thought before or anything.

I AGREE. AGREE. Though I kinda liked the overly coiffedness of Season 5, too.

Before the chop in season six, yes... Except for that weird thing she did when she had her hair in braids and had that barrette right in the back, in the middle. That really annoyed me.
That's actually why I didn't pick 6, well that and the hair chop.

I love a lot of the clothes in the later seasons. She also was model skinny perfect by season 7. I could not pull off a long leather jacket with puff sleeves like she wore in OMWF, though I loved it on her.

Also I was a bit overwrought about the makeup, especially in season 7, I don't know if it was exactly that it was so awesomely pretty (everyone looked so kinda rosy but defined and ugh with this glossy peachy lip I could not replicate) or if it was just that there were soooo many girls to look at, with so many closeups and they all looked so perfect.

oh and there's some scene in some early season where she has these lilac nails that always fascinate me.

Season 5 and Season 7!

Season 5: OMG HER HAIR. So pretty. And I loved her look throughout. The clothes were stylish, but not crazy out there.

Season 7: Her wardrobe this season was ridiculously flattering. And her hairstyles--LOVE THEM. She was so classy and mature and just beautiful.

Yes. Love her season 7 clothes. Totally sophisticated. The outfit in Lessons! Love. I mean, who else could pull off an all-white outfit without looking like they're wearing all white? No one. She's just so damn pretty.

Actually, I was torn between 6 and 7--but I picked 6 for 2 reasons: First, I just LOVE her hair color prior to Gone. I think it's perfect for her skin tone. Second, I kinda love the whimsy in her season 6 clothes. There's several outfits that are at season 7 maturity levels--but I love the ones that sort of point out that she's still a REALLY young adult. I even love the gray hoodie she's wearing in SR. It just looks cozy.

I've clearly committed way too much time to thinking about this.
