Michael Jackson remembered

Michael Jackson was THE superstar during my childhood. I grew up during the 80´s and back then Michael Jackson was huge. The first music video I ever saw was "Thriller" (and it scared the shit out of me) and the first CD I ever bought was "Off the Wall".
As a kid I tried to imitate his dance moves, the moonwalk especially. I glided around in my ( Read more... )

I agree.
Was that the History tour you attended?
I saw him during that tour in Gothenburg, Sweden. I think it was in the mid 90´s.

He was larger than life somehow. It´s hard to imagine the he is dead.

*hugs back*

Yes, when you earn THAT much money and can do anything you want, buy anything you want, I bet it´s easy that it just goes overboard.

Thank you for this tribute, M.
I'll alwyas be fond of Michael Jackson, not just for his talent, but also because he will always be part of my adolescence. I grew up with his Thriller tunes - they were integral part of my first evenings out with friends, at discos or parties in the 80's when I was 14 or 15 years old.

I read today on the UK Guardian that there might be an unpublished album he recorded in Las Vegas earlier this year, but I'm not sure if the report is confirmed by other sources...

Thanks,
Hugs

Just returned from London where he was supposed to give concerts at the O2-arena and the papers went mad digging up the worst kind of junk about him, it was rather sickening just to read the headlines. A lot of people are making money on this tragedy. The t-shirt-makers, for instance, and the people who sell their tickets to his show on the internet for a lot of money now. Nausiating. Diversity, the winners of Britain's Got Talent, were huge fans, which shows a great deal in their dancing, and was supposed to be the supporting act to his concerts. I feel really bad for them. He had a lot of fans in Britain, it seems. The memorial places in London were completely covered with flowers and cards, and there was nothing played on the radio and in the shops except for MJ's music for several days. I was never a fan of the music myself, but who wouldn't be impressed by his moves?
