I feel your pain. I have the same problem and have to go every 3 months for a cleaning. They told me the same thing.

I ended up changing dentists. I was griping about the whole thing to my mom and she said her dentist never pulls stuff like that with her or my dad, and I actually used to go to them and never had any trouble, so I switched back to them. We'll see. I mean, it's possible I geniunely need all this stuff, but I really don't get that all they are doing is a cleaning and calling it some fancy name so they can charge more. And I have 2 cavities I haven't had filled because it would cost me $80 out of pocket, and I actually asked why fillings wouldn't be fully covered since they are pretty important, and she said without insurance it would cost more like $200-something to get them filled. Whatever! It just seems to me like if the insurance company isn't willing to pay as much as they charge, they are charging too much.
