Another child is born
Another race is won
Another dream is shattered
Another day has begun
This world is still afloat
No not in Noah's boat
We've only lost the vision
Of the stars we're meant to be
This world is still afloat
No not in Noah's boat
We've only lost the vision
Of the stars we're meant to be
This world is full of love
We still have hope
This world is full of love
We still have hope
This world is full of love
We still have hope
This world is full of love
We still have hope
This world is full of love
We still have hope
This world is full of love
We still have hope
Notes
This vid had been in my head back in november 07, I had a somehow different idea in mind then, I thought it would be something deeper, but given the approaching VVC deadlines, I just did something rather simple in the end. and I think I feel a bit disappointed by the result now because of that.
But who's to say if I had had more time, I would have made something else, we never know :P
The idea for this came very early on from watching the pilot of BSG and whenever the opening credits came in, there was just something about them that totally marked me then. It wasn't the usual SciFi music, it carried so much more, so much pain and hope as well. it was clearly established then for me, how the show was not about scifi, but about this lost civilization looking for a meaning and a way to survive. It's always been what dragged me to BSG. And so this vid is suppose to mirror this idea. The lyrics tell you the rest better than me.
This vid was also the first one ever I really tried to storyboard. Usually, I use songs with more of a general mood attached to them than very lyric oriented songs. This time was different and I also wanted to see if storyboarding would in anyway help me vid faster. I'm not sure it did. But it gave me the feeling I was less messy. But I'm sure I was as messy as I was before.
I took a pic of my vidding board while I was making the vid, which you can see
here, if you're curious (forgive me for some french words here and there, and some notes like words of vocab I write down to remember ;)). That was the content of the vid, as I pictured it in my head through most of the process. Things were decided after but basically, the idea's there. :-)
