oh THANK YOU. i was waffling on whether to include the letter or not. but in the end, i decided to go for it. things are always better with extra penelope.
Oh, oh, oh. I love Hotch going to Reid and comforting him - bucking him up, a bit. I love Reid loving having friends.
I love his purple scarf. And Tobias. Oh, so perfect. My dad's favorite - and pretty much only - war story was one of helping some wounded soldiers in a field in France - he was in the Navy and attached to a Marine unit for a little while. There were also German wounded, and a German medic. They traded - chocolate for sulfa, as the German sulfa was coarse and poorly made, and American sulfa was a fine powder.
As they left, they turned to wave, and the German medic waved back by lifting off their helmet. And, my dad said, all this blonde hair tumbled out. The medic was a woman.
thank you so much for telling me this story. after all the crappy stuff i've read lately, i've been thinking about this story again and again. it's nice to know that people did help each other, and even women were there helping.
thank you SO VERY MUCH for sharing this with me. i'll never forget it.
That was my dad's favorite story to tell, he loved leading us all up to the surprise!ending, and i loved hearing it. I like knowing his story is out there in the world, in someone else's life.
You just keep blowing me away! (the pun wasn't intended but it is appropriate so I'll leave it there) I &hearts Garcia's letter, it's so very Garcia (by which I mean: full of awesome).
The joking around among the men is hilarious! It makes me wish for an Easy Company Comedy and Variety show.
I was not expecting Tobias but wow, it works. It really works.

I was not expecting Tobias.
God, this is brilliant - the way you're weaving the stories together.
And my heart and stomach are hurting - just like they did the first time I watched BOB.
