he is a fictional necromancer who possesses the genius of sherlock holmes and the social skills of dexter the serial killer. the books are flavored with humor, wit, brilliant dialogue, a whiff of steampunk, assorted evil, and very possibly, anise.

I also thought the second book was better than the first. I read them out of order and when I went back to read the first one I was a bit disappointed. There are so many funny parts. I like the little epilogue/short story at the end of the second one, too. :D

Have you heard anything about the third book?
