ohmygodohmygodohmygod. That was such an intense chapter. SO GOOD.
This: He’ll never admit to Sam, not even with his dying breath, but when Sam starts doing an impression of a ginormous--and uglified--Jean Grey and making with the floaty shit and the freeze frame, Dean is well beyond terrified. and the rest of the POV from Dean was beyond perfect and just so... Dean. Sam is the almighty one here, but Dean is the support, and seeing things from his prospective makes it real.
I'm still loving the "then" and "now" setup. What really works for me is that the "then" portions are more like glimpses into their daily lives - the proverbial calm before the storm. They were all working so hard to ensure their survival and to defeat the demon. So when so many of them went down - especially after their "then" sections - their deaths hurt all that much more.
And god bless Dean - still trying to keep calm, stay focused when he's about ready to pee himself. You've really captured his emotional strength and tenacity, here.
Oh, Sam. OH, SAM. Man, when he tapped into his full power, and went all super-Sammy? Great visualization. I could really see everything whirling around.
The special bullets - wouldn't it be awesome if they'd do that in the show? Crikey - then we'd be rid of the increasingly annoying Colt
( ... )
