Hey dorks - couple of opinions wanted from you all:

1. Where's the best salad in the Buffalo area (no limit for the area located), any kind of salad. Just can't be at a chain restaurant.

2. Best outdoor dining?

#2: I like the Old Orchard Inn in East Aurora and the peristyle at the Roycroft Inn for dining al fresco. The Roycroft has fabulous food at very reasonable prices. Do call ahead for reservations. I haven't eaten at the Old Orchard in a while but the setting was pretty.

I RAVE about Old Orchard. My husband and I got married there on the outdoor patio and we go there as often as possible. Such amazing food and such a beautiful setting!

My wedding reception was at the Roycroft and that's my favorite...I didn't remain married long enough to go back with him. (Domestic violence.) I do go to the Roycroft at every opportunity. Thanks for chiming in about the Old Orchard. I'll have to make it a point to go back.

I love the salads at Globe Market! I usually get the garden salad with grilled chicken or tofu, it is so good and fresh. It comes with their homemade balsamic vinaigrette and fresh bread. There's one on Elmwood and one downtown on Main St. The monsoon salad at Pano's is great too with dried fruits and coconut crusted chicken.

now I'm hungry.

No help on salads, but I like Cabaret's (downtown) deck for outdoor dining.

I've heard Gabriel's Gate has a very quaint outdoor seating area same with the Nine - Eleven Tavern in South Buffalo. Sadly I havent eaten outside at either place, but I've heard only good things about both places.
