donating plasma/medical research

Dec 02, 2009 20:28

Odd question I suppose but does anyone know a place in the Buffalo area where they pay for donating plasma?

or how about paid medical research studies?

Yeah, I'm broke. haha.

(ps. any other quick (legal) cash ideas are welcomed)

plasma donation, paid research, blood donation, jobs

Plenty of places are still hiring seasonal help. There are also people who will be needing pet sitters for the holidays. You stay in their home and watch/walk/feed their pets.

Ah, my problem is that I foolishly booked a plane ticket home for Xmas. I'm sure no retail place would want me if Im leaving Dec 22-29th. :/ Pet sitting probably wouldn't work in that regard either.

I am so over grad school. haha.

(thank you, btw - I hadn't thought of pet sitting and it probably would have worked!)

I've worked seasonally and left just before Christmas. Sometimes they can use any help they can get.

A couple of friends of mine did research studies through Buffalo Clinical Research Center (http://www.bcrc.us/). They were all long-term (at least two weeks on-site) but paid really well, all things considered.

Be very careful with what you get into. A few years ago they were offering a few grand to try out some retro-virals, I talked to a bunch of doctors, all of whom said they wouldn't take those drugs for half a million. They'll be honest with you, but if you're not that well educated in cutting edge medicine, you could get into something you regret.

also, meeting the strict requirements for a woman is tough, and they generally shy away from recruiting

UB has a lot of studies, but the longer-term ones pay much better than the one-off visits.
