I don't have an answer to your question, but I've always wondered if there's a fish monger in Buffalo. Hopefully so, I'd also love some fresh fish!

There is Hayes Seafood House, which is in Clarence. I believe it is on Main street, near Clarence HS. It is a restaurant, which also has a fish market inside. I'm sure you could call to see if they have what you're looking for. Here's the website: http://www.hayesseafoodhouse.com/ and the phone number is 632-1772. Good luck.

Hayes Fish Company has three Buffalo-area locations. I've never eaten there, but I've heard great things about their fish fry, and I am 90% sure they also serve as a fish market.

According to Bill Rappaport's Restaurant Guide, they have three locations:
8900 Main St. (at Shimerville Rd., between Harris Hill Rd. and Sheridan Dr.), Clarence. 632-1772.
3985 Harlem Rd. (north of Kensington), Snyder. 839-3354.
3279 Delaware Ave. (between Delaware Rd. and Sheridan Dr.), Kenmore. 876-3035.

I don't know about any specific kinds of fish (I don't care for seafood, personally), but you are about to enter Lent season in very Catholic Buffalo, which means there will be abundant fish fry deals every Friday pretty much everywhere.
