Gah, I know I'm always posting about trying to get rid of some animal, I just have bad luck with them I guess...or I'm just too nice to let friends figure their own situations out because I feel bad ( Read more... )

Poor puppy :( My cats reacted the same way when we first would bring a new one home, but now we are up to 4 and they all are best friends. It's sad that you won't even give it a chance.

you're giving up in less than a day? what are you, 12? anything worth having is worth working for, and this is a lesson you badly need to learn! grow up and do what needs to be done to make a good home for the pup you so reckless want to adopt then give away.

So...you BOUGHT a puppy, now you're trying to SELL her in less than a day? Wow.

$250 for a dog that isn't even spayed is ridiculous. I work in dog rescue. Consider relinquishing her to us so we can find her a proper home after a thorough application process- not just someone that's going to shell out $250 for a shitty back yard breeder puppy.

Not to mention it's a mixed breed dog that apparently came from some shitty backyard puppy mill type operation with no kind of contract/anything in writing and no kind of guarantee. I bet this dog will have a bunch of medical issues too.

People should adopt from shelters. If everyone stopped buying dogs from breeders (even the legit ones), there would still be enough dogs to go around! Not to mention, most shelters will fix the dogs, give them basic shots, and let you adopt them for less than $100.

Of course actions like this are how animals end up at shelters in the first place. It makes me so angry.

Agreed. xstay_goldx you should give your rescue's number for this case. I think this is a much better option than trying to sell the puppy online. At least in a rescue the OP can know that the pup will be going to a safe place and eventually a safe home. I got my newest kitty from a rescue and adopting him was a process and they really made sure my husband and I could provide a great home for him. I <3 rescues, they are absolutely wonderful!

Yes, we have a very thorough application process and we do home visits and full vetting/spay or neutering before adopting. Only about 10% of applications actually get approved. If the OP wants to go the rescue route, please email me at leah@spbr.org.

It was a mistake; I typed one thing while thinking another. I do have it in writing. My apologies ( ... )

How is offering to take the puppy into rescue not helpful advice?

Um I do believe that *I* was attempting to be helpful without being judgemental, so thanks for the punch in the face. Just because the advice wasn't what you probably wanted to hear or no one here wants to adopt your puppy isn't a horrible thing. I think it's been made clear long ago that people in this community are animal lovers and realize the severity of this situation. I am GLAD you posted this, personally, because maybe your eyes were opened a little to exactly what was said. Maybe not. But hopefully you can get the puppy to a rescue if it's not going to work out ( ... )

Thank you, for all of your help. I do appreciate it, because it did help to know that it takes time. But between the time of yesterday when I bought her, and today, she has bitten my other dog numerous times...and this is just me being worried.
I'm sorry you took it personally; it wasn't so much directed at you as it was the other people on here telling me such things as "grow up," etc, when as stated, knew NOTHING about the situation.

...You NEVER know "right away" what's going to work out because you have to give BOTH dogs time to adjust.

I have no right to give my opinion? Then neither do you. Pretty sure I can say whatever I want, whenever I want. Neither dog will get injured if they are introduced and handled properly. Do any of you know anything about dogs?
