(X-Files/Dresden Files)
I wrote a tiny little ficlet in the comments over in shyday's journal, so I'm reposting it here so that I can tag it. So that someday far in the future I can say to myself, "What? I wrote X-Files? No way!"
No, it doesn't even have a title. Less than 200 words, I'd guess. I'm very susceptible to suggestion late at night...

"Harry Dresden. He's a self-described wizard," Mulder said, handing a file on the man across the desk. "He even got himself listed in the yellow pages."
"As a wizard?" Scully looked through the file doubtfully.
"Check it out," he said, passing her a page torn out of a phone book.
"My god," Scully said in vague horror. "Mulder, I don't know why the phone company was willing to print this, but it proves nothing."
"Have I mentioned that his best friend has been dead for centuries?"
"Have I mentioned that I'd like to have a life someday, which I can't very well do if you keep dragging me all over the country looking for the Loch Ness Monster?"
"The...Loch Ness Monster lives in Scotland, Scully."
"We're not having this conversation, Mulder."
"But--"
"No. Unless you have reason to believe that this Dresden has committed an actual crime, no."
"What happened to the pursuit of knowledge, Scully? To rushing blindly into the unknown for the sheer thrill of exploration?"
Scully sighed. "I'm going out to lunch."
