i head off to chicago tomorrow. i arrive back in PA on Sunday. So, it is a relatively short trip, but I am excited since I have never been to Chicago. My trip is fully funded by the honor society for which I am president of at UD (Kappa Omicron Nu). It is a leadership conference and I am going with two classmates (who are also officers) and our way

Where are you staying in the city? Chicago itself is not too bad, but I found myself disappointed. It's a little too Midwest-fabulous for me. The Art Institute is beautiful (though difficult at times to navigate, as it's not laid out very well) and probably my favorite place in the city to go.

The big disappointment for me was the huge number of chains--lots of chain restaurants (or sports bars/pizzerias), chain stores, etc.--Michigan Ave is KoP with higher sales tax (and tax on everything, including clothes). Try to meet up with a local--usually they know the hole-in-the-wall places with local flavor. Have a good trip!
