TW: racial slursThe only one I know isn't American is the one about class, and most of the others were pretty clearly Americans, so yeah. It's a stereotype, but if we're talking about the worst examples that I picked out, it's something born out in the data (for this limited, limited, limited sample). Part of the problem is the terms I searched for were mostly American ways of expressing bigotry which the site helpfully bolds in their statuses so you know that I know all the awful words like "spic" and "nigger" and "gook" (but in any case - do other parts of the world even have the same slurs? I know that in the US, "paki" is virtually unheard of ( ... )

"Fag" and "dyke" get used here in Australia. I don't remember hearing "nigger" used here, but that doesn't mean it's not used here.

The racial slurs I remember hearing used by Australians are "leb" and "wog" for Lebanese people, "wog" for Greek and Italian people, "ching" for Chinese people (probably it's also sometimes applied to other Asians) and "abo" and "coon" for Aboriginal people.
