1) chris, remember this is not scientific :)
2) here is a map of the same idea, only based on 20,000 people voting. still not entirely accurate (biased by who has internet, likes baseball enough to vote, etc) but it seems to mirror some of the stuff in the one you posted. in fact, I wonder if that mural is based on this common census project. The shows a smaller tail on the Indians territory, but mirrors the large Marlins

I think you're right that reds territory should extend somewhat into Indiana, but I would bet that the northern part being CHicago fans is correct.

I know it isn't scientific, but the Reds have a little tail based on a farm team, I didn't know if there was some logic such as that for the Indians stretching into West Virginia.

Also, the Angels do dominate in the OC. So they do have some territory of their own, even if they claim to be the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim but really in Los Angeles.
