Adventures in Customer Service, Part Who-Knows

We decided we'll need a tandem baby stroller once Motu is born, since Ali is still too little to walk much by herself, and can get tired at the drop of a dime. She can also run wild for an entire day, but she's not predictable. The two main parameters are that at least one space takes a car seat (preferably both), and that the seats can face each ( Read more... )

/Being pregnant has its advantages, I suppose./
Once upon a time oдна твоя родственница чего-то сдавала в институте. Преподаватель пришел и начал подзывать студентов получать задания. Когда дошла очередь и она поднялась со своего места, преподаватель посмотрел на нее и сказал: "И зачетку сразу возьмите":)

:) Doesn't quite work that way around here - the favors are personal rather than institutional.

Quite a story. Makes me glad we are not planning on buying a double stroller (of course hopefully we won't discover that we absolutely need it). With the stroller being that heavy (over 40lbs?), do you think it'll be manageable?

The box was 44, the stroller was something like 40. The future one is a bit lighter, but all tandems are like that. I figure once I'm not pregnant and recovered, I'll be able to handle it; the steering is pretty nimble, I understand. Gosha is nearly that, so you wouldn't have to worry for sure. Besides, aite finds no need for it. I figure it's either this or that backpack/Bjorn combination, which doesn't appeal to me on a regular basis, and the grandmas won't go for it, I'm sure :)

The backpack/baby carrier sounds really appealing to me, and I don't need to worry about grandmas :).

For me it's more of not being able to get it in and out of the car. Gosha is 36lbs, but he's much easier to pick up than anything that weight (I'm not sure i'd be able to pick up things that weigh that much).

I somehow have trouble imagining getting not just one but two squirming/screaming children into their respective carriers and going, say, shopping or for a walk. I'm sure it won't happen all the time, but I don't see it as an appealing alternative. And the stroller doesn't kick or refuse to get buckled up or anything - just a simple in or out. To each his own.
