i went with ntan1, aleffert, feis, and slizyboy to la folie.

slizyboy brought his camera; i really need to get one of my own, if i hope ever to get better at plating (here's looking at you, masqueradestar).

we arrived in jack's van and climbed out to greet the valet in our assorted "business casual" wear. when we said we were here for la folie, the valet took another look at the van and made a ( Read more... )

As someone who has worked waiting tables: yes. When the customer has scattered their personal belongings all over the table such that there's no room for the plates, then shifting and some finagling is okay. Though, honestly, I'm not that uptight about it. At a much fancier restaurant things are probably a bit more stringent in how these things are interpreted.

i said what was in it in the bonus descriptions!

portobello, tomato, artichoke heart, eggplant, and the stuff around is tomato skin and olive.

Wow. There are meals worth suffering later. That looks like one of them. I'm very jealous, but also very happy for you. I want to make food that pretty and delicious! Can we do that some time?
