You'll be fine. It is the same group of guys you already know outside of LJ just an online version of them.
Do what I did on my first day...go through people who you know's livejournal and add all the guys you think are hot. It's the best way to meet people! (people will tell you they do not do this but they do and they are lying)
You are going to love it. I have gotta say I think this is the best way to meet new people and it is responsible for me meeting everyone that I have met and having the friends that I now have. Not to mention if it wasn't for LJ I would have never met Rob...
