Cordelia tossed a headache-relief pill into her mouth, washing it down with a big gulp of water. Her vision from the day before was still wreaking its effects on her poor head. Each vision seemed to last longer and longer. But, she wouldn't complain, especially since she wasn't suffering from continuous visions anymore, thanks to her big fat hero Angel ( ... )

While one would think that Angel would stay upstairs asleep all day, he actually needed far less sleep than others would realize. He could get by easily with just two or three hours of sleep, and today he'd already had four. So, he was more than ready to come downstairs and see who was already here. He knew that they others tried to keep regular hours, which meant that Wesley was at least probably already hear ( ... )

Gunn wasn't the type of person to report to any one place at a particular time. As of right now, he was only 'sort of' working with these people. They were growing on him, though. It had taken him a little extra 'getting used to' the English guy and Angel, because Angel was a vampire, something that he usually fought, and English...well, he was English. Nice enough guy, but a little uptight ( ... )

"Dennis is good with a loofa?" OK, that was a little too much information for Angel right there. He was already trying to push that little tidbit out of his mind. Really, why do they talk about these kinds of things in the office again? Shouldn't they be professional and only talk about cases and tactics for killing demons and bad things all the faster?

Yeah, they weren't going to be professional, were they? Oh well.

"And I keep blood like you people keep soda here," Angel pointed out. "It's the same thing." Except not at all, but he was trying to place a semblance of normalcy here. Too bad that there was known of that to speak of in this place. They took care of each other, though, so that's what counted.

Angel peaked over at the book again. To him, books were books, and they were nice, but he definitely didn't get a look like that on his face when he was looking at them. Wes had a very strange relationship with books.

"You people are weird," Gunn said as he investigated for a cup of coffee. "Talking about ghosts and them using loofas. Y'all need hobbies...and dates." Because when would they date? At least Gunn occasionally went to a club or a house party, though. He was pretty sure these guys sat around their apartments when they weren't here. They seemed to be here *a lot* though ( ... )

Cordelia got a slightly hurt look for he words. Considering they all were always there for her during and after the visions, that was a needless thing to say. Wesley even more then the other two was there for her, since he stayed behind to do research while Gunn and Angel would go ahead to...whatever had been in the visions. And if he *were* to ask if she was alright the day after, she could on occasion bite his head off ( ... )

"Right, because 'I work for a vampire with a soul and I get visions of demons' is a surefire way of getting date," Cordelia said to Gunn. She had definitely tried the normal dating thing, but apparently, now she found that people with normal jobs and normal lives--no matter how much money they had--were totally boring. She really resented all of them for making her need some guy with substance, who could kill vampires and demons, to keep her interest.

"Safe to say none of us have had dates in ages. And well, if Angel ever gets a date, we'll probably all get killed," she said, looking at the vampire pointedly. He seemed to be in a good mood, but not too good of a mood. That never boded well for anyone.

She then quickly shot a glare at Gunn for spitting out her coffee. "It's not that bad," she pouted. She wanted to roll her eyes as Wesley clearly took offense to her teasing. She thought he'd be used to it by now. Plus, he was just as vicious sometimes ( ... )

Still fuming, Wesley washed up the glass in the kitchen. Had he known Gunn's thoughts he would have liked his supposed best friend a little less. First he was to 'get over things', and now apparently he was a drama queen. Lets see how Gunn would feel once he'd been replaced by his gang as leader.

Thankfully Wesley wasn't a mind reader, because things like those thoughts were the last thing he needed. He had no idea why people thought he was, apparently, loaded with self confidence. When it was obviously since Sunnydale that he was anything but.

"Yes, fine," he replied to Angel's question shortly.

"You don't seem fine," Angel said to Wesley as he continued to clean the glass. Angel wasn't quite as dense as his friends made fun of him for being. Even if he was a little lacking on the social front sometimes, he could still pick up regular social cues when he wanted to pay attention, and he wanted to pay attention to Wes and the others. Make sure that they stayed OK.

Gunn groaned when Cordy explained that her visions didn't usually get any close-captioning. "They like to give you smellivision sometimes, plus just close encounters with all sorts of things killing things, but no close captioning? That's a gyp and a half." It would certainly make their lives a who lot easier if the PTB were nice and included handy things like notes on just what they were fighting and whatever. "If the higher powers wanted us to fight stuff, you'd think they'd include all the info." Just made sense.

But what about their lives made sense? Really?

"Tell me about it," Cordelia moaned, pinching the bridge of her nose, "I mean, I'm happy I have visions and can help the world and blah blah blah, but it really sucks to have your head split open just to show you something that's not even clear."

She sighed, "I am not a mystery solver. I mean, I kind of am now, but I hated those kinds of books and shows when I was kid. I bet the PTB's knew that and are trying to torture me by not ever giving me a clear answer."

Her gaze lingered towards the kitchen, hoping that Wesley was all right. And that Mr. Social Skills wasn't making whatever was wrong worse.

"I'm fine," Wesley insisted. He had never been one to talk about anything really, let alone one to share emotions. The whole 'allergies' part still annoyed him to no end. Fact was, he just wasn't used to anyone giving a damn.

And now he wasn't even really useful. Figured. It always ended like this sooner or later, to be honest. Just like in Sunnydale. Okay, it had been quite a lot sooner there.

With a sigh he stubbornly kept cleaning the glass that really needn't any cleaning anymore.
