I'm beginning to look at my friends and wonder why the hell I spend my time with some of these people.

In most cases, I find shiny gems and I realize just how much I love them.  But in some others, I'm finding my gems are tarnished.  In a few cases, I've rubbed at that tarnish and discovered that underneath is nasty.  These are not my shiny gems;
