Oh my, this is so intense and so real. Thank you so much for writing this prompt. You really captured rawness of their broken friendship with this. Absolutely breathtaking. And I love the ending. Bill telling him he's an officer first and grabbing his dog tags. Perfect.

I love how few words they have to say to each other, but they still manage to communicate everything they need to. It's nice to see somebody exploring this relationship in fic. :)
