I noticed that he vanished, but assumed he was an hallucination. Or a Cylon Projection. I figured the pianist was a vision about halfway into the ep.

Interesting theory though.

Yeah. He was her projection of her original identity.

I wouldn't be happy if our strong female character ended up being a man underneath. :(

You can look at it that way. Or you can think that she might possibly have been the same kind of person no matter her gender.

Alternatively, everything she's achieved, she achieved as a woman. She's not really a man underneath, but even if she was Daniel, she's not a man anymore. She's been completely changed.

She only remembers life as a woman, and who are we if not the sum of our memories and experiences?

I... Well, if Daniel is Kara, Dirk Benedict will be happy. =)

I see it more as a clever tribute.

*nods* I just have knee-jerk reactions to Dirk Benedict's reactions to the Kara as Starbuck...

Yeah, but there were all the parallels between her flashbacks to playing it as a kid with her dad, and playing it then with that guy. Too many parallels for it to not have some sort of significance.

On Bear McCreary's blog, he mentions that he's her father.

So I see. I still think Kara is Daniel.

I think that the pianist was a bit like Baltar's Angel Six. Because Kara has 'died' she is now able to see an avatar that looks like Daniel/her father, and he will now guide her the same way that Angel Six guides Baltar. This would also lend credit to the "Baltar died on Caprica" theory, which has been a personal favorite of mine since we've discovered Kara's secret. Because, really, if that blast could take out a Cylon, then how did he survive?

I really do think that Daniel is Kara's dad, and not Kara herself because he taught her "All Along the Watchtower". Had Kara just come up with the song herself than I would think that she was indeed Daniel.

If Kara's father is Daniel I look forward to how they explain the dead Kara on Earth. For that to happen, 'Daniel' and Kara's mother would have had to have given birth to twins....and named them both Kara...hid one from the other...but let them both work on Galactica...ehhhhhhh *splodes*

I think when Kara died on Earth she was able to use resurection technology just like the Final Five.

Then why was there a replica Kara model waiting for her to download in to if Kara was born naturally?
