women of BSG vid ideas dump
I don't have time to vid (unless it's, you know, for a class assignment). in case you haven't noticed, vidding is about a gajillion times more labor-intensive than writing fic, and that's why you should be giving our vidders lots of love. I do, however, have plenty of time to make up fanvids in my head! I shall now subject you to its contents, in hopes of delegating inspiring others!
if I WERE going to make another (less rudimentary) vid someday (and I'm not saying I am), my dream would be to use the Videomaker contest submissions as my source. of course, this would involve ripping them somehow, and watching them all (they're up to, what, 150 now?), and that's largely (perhaps prohibitively) painful. but thanks to iamsab, I even have audio: this Tom Waits creepy spoken-wordy piece "What's He Building In There?" which is totally about fanboys (and cylons). and yeah, probably nobody else but me would ever make this vid.
as for these others, though -- you never know!

• Nellie McKay's "Clonie"! the doppelcest anthem. this would make an AMAZING Sharon vid, you guys. or any of the cylon gals, really. but mostly Boomer/Athena.
• "I Want To Be Evil" by Eartha Kitt. OH LAURA. actually, THIS could be the Laura and Three as parallel autocrats vid that I really want.
• there's already an A/R vid to "Teacher's Pet" (also a song I have), which is too bad because it would be an equally hilarious vid about Laura and her parade of girl fridays (Billy can come too).
• I'm not really a very song-oriented person, and I'm always trying to look up and cook up possible ways of vidding to less customary sorts of audio. I extracted this archive of vintage video from a CD-ROM series, mostly promotional materials, and I'm sifting through it looking for the gems. these could be a source for something reminiscent of zoetrope's "Four Ways to Defeat the Wraith Through Good Health" series, though possibly even more evocative and meta-tastic. I mean, check out this one about building widgets (CYLONS!) or this (long) one about Science and The Future. = TOMORROW SERIES
