I like Tom living in denial. Or at least liking to give Edith the benefit of the doubt and not immediately think the worst of Edith like Mary always does.

Uh oh, now Tom and Mary are in trouble!

“Oh, Tom. You can’t seriously think they sit around, sipping tea and innocently talking about books every time they meet?”
This made me giggle, and I found myself suddenly truck with the desire for crack!fic with Edith and Gregson have tea parties and discuss literature.

It would probably be a nicer relationship if Gregson and Edith did sip tea and talk about books. In my mind, instead of strengthening once they had sex like any normal relationship should, theirs crumbled. And that's my canon now! I keep thinking that will happen in the show too should they become more intimate.

How revealing that Tom does not even think to name himself among Edith's love interests ! Though he's supposed to make Mary believe this is a real marriage. Apparently he is too busy arguing to remember that...

In my mind as I was writing this was that Tom was still quite obsessed with Sybil and he never really thought about romance with anyone for himself, other than with Sybil.
