I love that scene with Carson and Mrs Patmore so much. I love that even though he's all reserved to almost stuffiness he takes her hand. This scene always proved the "their all the family I've got" comment. I just love that he really cares about her well being.

And I can't really add anything about Bates and Anna other then general squee'ing. I love them in this episode.

The whole salt/sugar/cooking the Apple Charlotte thing really shows the blending of the servants with the household as well. Mrs Patmore basically stands there and tells Cora where she can shove her Apple Charlotte, and later, there is no hint of Mrs Patmore ever losing her job over the salt/sugar thing. If I had to work for a rich family, I'd be chosing them!

I forgot to mention how much I loved Mrs Hughes and Bates shooing everyone out of the kitchen and letting Mr Carson deal with Mrs Patmore and her problems. I love that respect and trust they both showed him there. :)

The Bates/Anna storyline really heated up in this episode, didn't it!?

I think the timeline doesn't help sometimes. If this is supposedly about 18 months or so after Bates arrived at the house, Mrs Hughes would probably know that he doesn't gossip for gossip sake, and may have confided this detail to him for some reason.

I'm afraid Vera won't have many fangirls. I can't wait to see how she ends up. Is she going to be completely bitchy or are we going to have sympathy? Will be interesting.

The end for Violet? Yes, beneath that crusty exterior beats a heart of gold. *snort*

Oh, Carson and Hughes are so much the leaders of the fleet. I love it!

With bsg, I ignored any possible ship but Bill and Laura. But I have quite a few going on with DA. Including way obsure ones like Isobel/Dr Clarkson. *snort*

Oh I adored this episode! Absolutely loved it. It was a little light on Carson>hughes but the rest of it was so lovely I almost couldn't fault it....Almost.

Bates/Anna

OMG. So sweet and sad. Her admission as so lovely as was his, "if I were free I would so be there, but I have a secret that I can't tell you and that keeps me from being with you" moment was sob inducing. The line about not wanting to hold her back because there's been enough of that. Damn. But then thee they are at the flower show stealing another glance. *sigh*

Thomas/O'Brien
I hate these two in the most delicious way. Hooray for Anna and her sweetly devious mother! The panic in those two was great after Bates and Anna ask for the search!
I hope they get theirs is a wonderful way.

Carson/Patmore
That scene is so cute. Poor Mrs. Patmore, but yeah for Carson being such a sweety. I do love him more each eppy!

Violet/Isobel
Damn. Funny stuff there. I loved it so much. And Violets tacit admission at the end when she gives the cu to Moseley is so great.

Yes, the Carson/Hughes romance had to take a back seat for all the sweetness of the Bates/Anna one. He's so Bill Adama in this eppy (yes, I do relate everything back to Bill and Laura, why do you ask?). All those looks that he gives her, just telling her without words how much he loves her. But that nobleness making him hold back. Damn! All these noble gentlemen!

I know what you mean about loving Carson more and more. I was all about Bates/Anna and it's shocked me how much I'm not sliding over to the Carson/Hughes camp.
